Transformation rules
Transformation rules define the specifics and detailed connections of transformations.
Add transformation rules
Transformation rules are specified in the subpanel of a transformation.
A new transformation rule is added by clicking the icon "+" (or by selecting "Add Rule..." in the menu).
It is mandatory to assign a rule number to the transformation rule. In addition, multiple source and target elements can be specified.
Clicking "Add" creates the transformation rule.
Transformation rules can also be created by duplicating other transformation rules.
Edit transformation rules
Quick edit
A transformation rule is edited in the subpanel of the transformation, by clicking the edit icon (or by selecting "Edit Rule" in the menu) next to the transformation rule.
The quick edit mode allows the modification of the most frequently used input fields.
The elements that are the source of the transformation can be rearranged with the mouse using "drag and drop".
The icons in the lower left corner of the edit view allow further settings to be made:
- Clicking
marks the element as favorite. - Clicking
marks the element as locked. - Clicking
marks the element as read-only.
Clicking "Save" applies the changes.
A transformation rule can be deleted in the subpanel of the transformation, by selecting "Delete Rule" in the menu next to the transformation rule.
Detailed edit
A transformation rule is edited in the main panel of the transformation rule, by clicking the edit icon (or by selecting "Edit Rule" in the menu).
The detailed edit mode allows the modification of all standard input fields. Additional, customer-specific fields can be added using annotations and will then also appear in the edit mode.
The elements that are the source of the transformation can be rearranged with the mouse using "drag and drop".
The icons in the lower left corner of the edit view allow further settings to be made:
- Clicking marks the element as favorite.
- Clicking marks the element as locked.
- Clicking marks the element as read-only.
Clicking "Save" applies the changes.
A transformation rule can be deleted in the main panel of the transformation rule, by selecting "Delete Rule" in the menu.
Order transformation rules
The sorting of the transformation rules is determined by their rule numbers. These rule numbers can be assigned manually during editing. Alternatively, in the subpanel of the transformation, it is possible to arrange the transformation rules and assign their order automatically.
Selecting "Order Rules..." in the menu opens a dialog, where the transformation rules can be rearranged with the mouse using "drag and drop".
Clicking "Save" applies the changes and reassigns the rule numbers automatically.
