Reference objects
A reference object is an enumeration of valid reference values. These value lists are adopted throughout the organization and are used to classify certain properties. Reference objects can be structured in a hierarchy of superordinate and subordinate reference objects.
Add reference objects
Reference objects are specified in a reference data model in the subpanel of a collection.

A new reference object is added by clicking the tab "Reference objects" and the icon "+" (or by selecting "Add Reference object..." in the menu).

It is mandatory to assign a label to the reference object. In addition, a title and a description can be specified. A superordinate reference object (from the same reference data model) may be selected, if required. In case a superordinate reference object is selected, it can be specified that the codes of the reference values of the reference object must be hierarchically unique only in combination with their superordinate reference value.
Selecting a superordinate reference object automatically classifies the reference object as a subordinate reference object.
Hierarchically unique reference objects allow multiple reference values with the same code to be added, as long as their superordinate reference values are different.
Clicking "Add" creates the reference object.
Reference objects can also be created by duplicating other reference objects.
Edit reference objects
A reference object is edited in the main panel of the reference object, by clicking the edit icon (or by selecting "Edit Reference object" in the menu).

The edit mode allows the modification of all standard input fields. Additional, customer-specific fields can be added using annotations and will then also appear in the edit mode.

The icons in the lower left corner of the edit view allow further settings to be made:
- Clicking
marks the element as favorite.
- Clicking
marks the element as locked.
- Clicking
marks the element as read-only.
Clicking "Save" applies the changes.
A reference object can be deleted in the main panel of the reference object, by selecting "Delete Reference object" in the menu.
