Mappings

A mapping connects two reference objects and defines translations between their respective reference values. The translations may represent both a hierarchical and a functional context.

Add mappings

Mappings are specified in a reference data model in the subpanel of a collection or reference object.

Options menu

A new mapping is added by clicking the tab "Mappings" and the icon "+" (or by selecting "Add Mapping..." in the menu).

Add

It is mandatory to assign a label and two reference objects (the source and target of the translations) to the mapping. In addition, a title and a description can be specified.

Tooltip

In case the mapping is added in the subpanel of a reference object, the source is automatically populated with this reference object and cannot be altered.

Clicking "Add" creates the mapping.

Tooltip

Mappings can also be created by duplicating other mappings.

Edit mappings

A mapping is edited in the main panel of the mapping, by clicking the edit icon (or by selecting "Edit Mapping" in the menu).

Edit

The edit mode allows the modification of all standard input fields. Additional, customer-specific fields can be added using annotations and will then also appear in the edit mode.

The source and target reference objects of a mapping are initially defined once and cannot be edited later.

  • Clicking img marks the element as favorite.
  • Clicking img marks the element as locked.
  • Clicking img marks the element as read-only.

Clicking "Save" applies the changes.

Delete mapping

A mapping can be deleted in the main panel of the mapping, by selecting "Delete Mapping" in the menu.
