Relationships
A relationship is a functional link between a source object and a target object (or their respective attributes).
Add relationships
Relationships are specified in a business data model in the subpanel of a business object.

A new relationship is added by clicking the tab "Relationships" and the icon "+" (or by selecting "Add Relationship..." in the menu).

It is mandatory to assign a name as well as a source object and a target object to the relationship. In addition, an order can be specified. The direction of the relationship may be toggled, if required.
The source object and target object define the direction of the relationship. The current business object must either be specified as the source object or as the target object.
Clicking "Add" creates the relationship.
Relationships can also be created by duplicating other relationships.
Edit relationships
Quick edit
A relationship is edited in the subpanel of the business object, by clicking the edit icon (or by selecting "Edit Relationship" in the menu) next to the relationship.

The quick edit mode allows the modification of the most frequently used input fields.

The icons in the lower left corner of the edit view allow further settings to be made:
- Clicking
marks the element as favorite.
- Clicking
marks the element as locked.
- Clicking
marks the element as read-only.
Clicking "Save" applies the changes.
A relationship can be deleted in the subpanel of the business object, by selecting "Delete Relationship" in the menu next to the relationship.
Detailed edit
A relationship is edited in the main panel of the relationship, by clicking the edit icon (or by selecting "Edit Relationship" in the menu).

The detailed edit mode allows the modification of all standard input fields. Additional, customer-specific fields can be added using annotations and will then also appear in the edit mode.

The icons in the lower left corner of the edit view allow further settings to be made:
- Clicking
marks the element as favorite.
- Clicking
marks the element as locked.
- Clicking
marks the element as read-only.
Clicking "Save" applies the changes.
A relationship can be deleted in the main panel of the relationship, by selecting "Delete Relationship" in the menu.
Order relationships
The sorting of the relationships is determined by their order (if present). This order can be assigned manually during editing. Alternatively, in the subpanel of the business object, it is possible to arrange the relationships and assign their order automatically.

Selecting "Order Relationships..." in the menu opens a dialog, where the relationships can be rearranged with the mouse using "drag and drop".

Clicking "Save" applies the changes and reassigns the order automatically.
If required, it is possible to specify that automatic ordering should start at a certain number.
