Basic functions

Functionality	Description
Expansion of issue functionalities	Issues, which were previously very closely linked to assets, have been expanded to improve collaboration on metadata. Issues can now be independent of assets or assigned to any number of assets. In addition, explicit responsibilities for issues can be defined. This allows for better control and management of task management related to metadata. Issues can now also be created directly on the issue page, independent of assets.
Operations and parameters in data models	In addition to attributes and relationships, operations and the relevant parameters can now also be defined for data objects. This allows relevant database processing to be mapped directly in the model.
Reorganization of versions	To avoid overcrowded version histories with many revisions, server parameters can now be used to define how history entries are handled.
Extension of the origin for constraints	For business constraints, an origin from the reference data model and the measures catalog can now also be assigned.

Import/Export & Reports

Functionality	Description
Import & Export for issues	Issues now also have upload and download functionality. This means that issues available in dataspot. can also be uploaded and downloaded. This also enables synchronization with other applications. This functionality replaces the previous search results report for tickets.
Ticket views	Ticket metadata can now also be queried in the metadata query using SQL. This means that an overview on issues and their progress can be reported.
Export/Import version	Export/Import version 3 has now been set as the default. Export/Import version 2 can still be used, but is no longer intended as the default. We recommend switching to version 3.

Usability

Functionality	Description
dataspot. Facelift	Design adjustment of the dataspot. interface for easier use and better clarity have been implemented. The previous menu bar has also been changed to a sidebar. The breadcrumb trail is now located in the upper left corner.
Standardization of actions in dataspot.	The create, edit, and delete options have been standardized to simplify the use of dataspot.
Sorting additional elements	With this release, measures, dimensions, dimension assignments, usages (for projects and processings), and data sets can also be assigned an order. With this sorting is available for these asset types.
Separate display pages for ticket types	Separate search pages are now available for the different ticket types (discussion, approval, issue). This allows for more targeted searches for specific content.
Improved table view	The view for lists and tables in dataspot. has been improved. Columns within a table can now be moved and hidden.
Revised loading process for diagrams	During the loading process for diagrams, the display limit is now checked step by step. This makes the display of the diagram more consistent.
Change to the search function on detail pages	The search function on detail pages (e.g., for attributes) no longer works as a full-text search but as a filter. This means that you can also search for parts of words that are not found at the beginning of the word.
Revision of the search pages	The search pages have been revised to improve the display of search results and filter criteria especially in the context of model specific profiles.
Revision of My Issues on the dashboard	The My Issues tab on the dashboard now only displays issues in which the respective user is listed as a participant or is the author of the issue.
Inline editors are now dialogs	The inline editors for creating and editing subassets (e.g., attributes) have been converted to dialogs. This conversion forms the basis for further adjustments in future releases.

Configuration

Functionality	Description
Theme configuration	The configuration of themes in dataspot. has been revised to allow for more options for the design of the sidebar. This allows the design of dataspot. to be even better adapted to the corporate CI.
CustomProperties from profiles in the search	CustomProperties defined in profiles can now also be evaluated using the dataspot. search function. To do this, the respective model must first be selected in the search query. Once a model has been selected, the relevant profile is applied.
Upgrade of Fontawesome icons	With this release, all standard icons from Fontawesome Release 7.1 are now also available in dataspot. Duotone icons can no longer be used.
